ABOUT

MY APPROACH

I approach therapy as a collaborative process and know that you are the expert on yourself and your life. Therefore, we will work as a team to get to the bottom of what you are experiencing. To do this, we will take a holistic approach. We will explore your emotions, and the thoughts, stories, and memories associated with them. We will also explore your emotions and feelings in the body. Perhaps you often feel the tension in your shoulders, get stomach aches, or grind your teeth. These could all be physical manifestations of your emotions, and I will help you figure this out. Some issues I work with include but are not limited to: chronic pain, anxiety, stress, trauma, and life transitions.

Below, I have included a list of therapeutic approaches I use. I will tailor my approach depending on your needs and goals for therapy. Please click on the name of each therapeutic approach to learn more about it.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN YOUR FIRST SESSION

In our first session together, my main goal is to make you feel understood and heard. We can do this in a few ways. The first way is that we can jump in and start the therapy process right away by focusing on what you would like to talk about in the session. The other way is to start by having me ask you questions about your life, what you are currently going through, and gather any information that you feel is important for me to know. Either way, I want therapy to feel like a safe space for you; and foster this by actively listening to everything you have to say with a non-judgemental, empathic, and warm approach.
